Our Take on Velocity’s Production-Built 1967 Ford F-100

lassic truck ownership is not just about having old machinery; it’s a gateway to a whole culture and a reflection of your personality. It’s like making a statement that you appreciate the bold styles of the past and have the means to resurrect one to make it cooler than anything else on the road. On top of that, they act as a portal to a time when life was simpler. I think we all have a fondness for those less-complicated times.

For those looking to create your own a head-turning truck, all we can say is that it’s not easy. Yes, you can build a truck on a budget with your two hands and a proper set of tools, but it will require a plethora of hours to complete. But perhaps you prefer to buy your way in? That too can come with complications as there are a lot of trucks that appear to be good deals but in reality are piles of junk.

Now, we don’t want to discredit having a truck built by someone else as there are many reputable shops that can turn your classic truck dreams into a reality. But the drawback here is that this process can be very time consuming. As they say, all good things come to those who wait. And it’s not to say that these places take their time to rack up labor charges. The truth of the matter is that these vehicles are rolling pieces of art and require a good stretch to fulfill a vision.

However, if you are looking to shortcut your path to greatness, Velocity Restorations of Cantonment, Florida, does have a solution with their production classic trucks. Because the folks there have an assembly line of these trucks, the process is streamlined for a stunningly short 14-week turnaround, which makes ordering one of these trucks comparable to purchasing a new truck from a dealership. In fact, Velocity’s truck offerings are more like buying a modern truck in vintage form, as the majority of the components included are brand new to ensure comfort and reliability.

We were recently given the opportunity to borrow a Velocity Street Series 1967 Ford F-100 for about a week to give them some experienced feedback. Immediately upon delivery, we were taken aback by the sheer beauty of this old-school hauler! Like any well-curated truck build, this F-100 has a flawless exterior that features an eye-catching Bitchin Blue and white paintjob that was accented with custom billet side markers, mirrors, and door handles for a modern touch.

On the inside, it is even more luxurious with a modern foam-filled bench seat, premium leather upholstery, and just the right amount of billet accessories. We especially liked the operation of the Dakota Digital gauges and Vintage Air climate-control that made interior temperatures oh-so comfortable. Yes, it does have a stereo, but, truthfully, we enjoyed listening to the engine roaring through the custom exhaust.

It’s not just a beauty queen either, as this truck was set on a Roadster Shop SPEC coilover chassis with rack-and-pinion steering and hydroboosted large Baer brakes to meet our modern expectations. The new chassis not only looks great but systems like this really make driving these trucks easy and comfortable. Handling was terrific too, and it truly felt like we were in a new truck with superior ride quality.

The best part? This truck is no slouch, as the included Gen III 5.0L Coyote engine with a 10-speed transmission and 9-inch rearend had plenty of power to get the 19- and 20-inch Forgeline wheels with Michelin rubber moving. Though it does not have any performance upgrades, the 460 ponies from the engine are plenty enough to get it up to speed on the highway. Trust us, we were not shy when it came to mashing the go pedal either. With us being based in Orange County, California, there is no shortage of high-profile vehicles on our roads. As crazy as it may sound, no one got past us while we were piloting this beast.

This F-100 has just about everything a truck enthusiast would want in a build and is the great balance between cool factor and driveability. We could not stop ourselves from driving this truck everywhere to give it the full test. We even used it to haul photo equipment to a couple of photoshoots and even shot the Oct. ’25 cover of our sister publication All Chevy Performance while rolling in this truck down Pacific Coast Highway.

One thing’s for sure, we had no problem jumping in, turning the keys, and riding off into the sunset as we seriously enjoyed having this amazing pickup in our possession. With that being said, there can be some sticker shock on these trucks as Velocity asks $349,500 for this particular model with the wood bed floor option. Now, that is a lot of beans to shell out but if you have the means, this is not unheard of for a truck of this caliber, especially for how quick these are being produced.

In all honesty, this truck was super addictive and delivered all the feels when behind the wheel. All we wanted to do was drive it at all times of the day, and we made plenty of excuses to take it out over and over again. From our firsthand experience, there’s no denying that a truck like this can truly elevate every moment!
