Back in the Heart of Classic Truck Texas

fter attending a record-setting turnout just two months prior at the Goodguys LMC Spring Lone Star Nats, we found ourselves right back in the heart of classic truck Texas for the fourth annual Classic Parts of America C10 Nationals Truck Show and what we expected to be another great gathering in Fort Worth. (This was technically the third edition of the show, as last year’s event was unfortunately canceled for obvious reasons.)

The two-day event (Friday to Saturday) actually kicked off on Thursday, May 13, for us (vendors) at the venue, Texas Motor Speedway, and gave us an early indication of what to expect the following two days. Come Friday morning bright and early, the 1947-2021 Chevys and GMCs started rolling en masse—and by Saturday the infield area was packed. But it wasn’t just a static GM-only truck show.

Along with the proverbial show ’n’ shine, both Friday and Saturday (all day) featured the fabled Throwdown in Cowtown, aka the Classic Performance Products Autocross as well as the Gandrud Chevrolet Dyno Challenge—both open to the public. The Summit Racing Friday Night Drag Racing Under the Lights was also a hit, as was the Gandrud-sponsored burnout contest on Saturday afternoon before the Meguiar’s event-closing awards ceremony (followed by a celebratory cruise around the surrounding track with its 20- and 24-degree banked turns!). And for those who just weren’t into trucks, there was always the option of making a few laps around the 1.4-mile Texas Motor Speedway at speed in an actual NASCAR Stock Car.

All in all, we had a great time, met some great people, and saw some amazing trucks. We’ll let the accompanying photos do the rest of the talking!
