Dino's Git-Down 2025
The BIGGEST All-GM Truck Show … Ever!

ell, by now, I think we all know the immense weight of Dino’s Git-Down, which brings in massive numbers of GM trucks (we’ll get to the vehicle count later) to Glendale, Arizona, on an annual basis. Though today this event has turned into a must for many enthusiasts from across the globe, it really came together from humble beginnings. And if you didn’t know, it all started with a simple hangout before another event nearby.

If you’ve ever met the dude behind it, Dino Battilana, you’d know that he is just another classic Chevy truck fan who shares our passion for these old haulers. Basically, he just wants to hang out with other like-minded folks and his larger-than-life personality is infectious with everyone who passes his way. This is a major component to why the Git-Down is such a huge gathering and there is no doubt that putting this show on is definitely his calling in life! We love it so much we can’t wait to join him every year!

Surprisingly, it all began 15 years ago at his residence before moving to his appliance repair shop in order to make more room for activities. After a few years there, the neighborhood around the shop became overwhelmed and Dino decided to step things up by moving to some larger venues, including a waterpark and the Westgate Entertainment District’s parking lot. Each year, the crowds have surpassed expectations; Dino made the giant leap to the parking lot of the State Farm Stadium. To our surprise, the crowds followed in dramatic fashion, like how a fish put into a larger body of water gets bigger.

The 2025 Git-Down was held on November 14-15, the weekend following the SEMA Show. When you think about it, this is some interesting timing as many big debuts that happen at SEMA in Vegas make their way to the Git-Down as it’s only a few hours drive between the two events. The scheduling makes certain that big-name builds get a chance of shining in the sun in the Grand Canyon State. Since the event is free for participants, the crowds (estimated 70,000 people) also follow in order to take part in the festivities.

We do have to commend Dino and his wife, Terry, on their efforts to make this event very well rounded. Not only do we get to see all our favorite rides in one place, but the show is also very friendly for those who bring families. For a few years, it was difficult to replenish our bellies after the strenuous task of walking the field. Now, there is a whole row of food vendors and even a picnic area for kids to get their sillies out.

The big question is, how many vehicles actually show up? The answer is, no one really knows. Dino estimates that the number is around 10,000-12,000 vehicles given by what the venue states is the capacities for the lots. But the only way to really measure it would be by manually tallying each truck that comes in, but that is practically impossible as vehicles flood in all day long and it would be an exhausting task to boot. We say who cares what the exact number is as this is literally the largest event we attend all year. It’s so big that we cannot see it all over the course of two days, so that should give you a mental image on the scale of this show.

This year’s event was especially more difficult to navigate through as there were 257 vendors who leveled up the playing field with some of the best trucks and parts offerings in the scene. With all of this going on during one event, one has to think if the show will continue to grow, and we think the answer is yes. Dino told us he is still very enthusiastic about throwing each event and he has a few ideas to make it even better as he continues to prove that the Git-Down is the mecca for all GM truck enthusiasts.
