ell, 2020 hasn’t been a total loss as far as events go. Under strict city/state guidelines, with masks up, the highly anticipated 10th Annual Dino’s Git Down went down without a hitch this past November at the Westgate Entertainment District in sunny Glendale, Arizona … and we were there to catch all the action!

Following CTP’s “public debut” earlier in the year at the C10 Intervention in Auburn, California, it was good to get back out on the road and venture outside our restricted comfort zone for the two-day event sponsored by our good friends LMC Truck. We had the pleasure of cruising out on Interstate 10 with Jimenez Bros. Air Ride & Rod Shop to debut Josh Dunn’s beautiful C10, which was displayed alongside our In The Garage Media pop-up store. And we were definitely in good company, sharing the asphalt with the likes of BedWood & Parts, Premier Street Rod, Delmo’s, American Racing/US Mags, Old Anvil Speed Shop, Eddie Motorsports, Scott’s Hotrods, Tre5 Customs, and many other companies devoted to the classic truck world.

Things kicked off Thursday evening with Git Down Pre-Show Mixer hosted by (and at) Tre5 Customs and IKandy Paintworks just a couple blocks from Westgate, which ultimately ended up being a show in and of itself with the amount of people, trucks, and free pizzas that show up! Thanks to Jeremy from Tre5 and Frank from IKandy for the great time.

Come 9 a.m. Friday morning, the Westgate Entertainment Center really came alive—and continued non-stop till 9 p.m.—with more 1938-1998 GM trucks (and a handful of non-GMs that were relegated to the far corner of the lot!) than we had originally anticipated under the social circumstances. And despite what many naysayers think, the masks were up the entire time the action went down!

Saturday brought even more hustle and bustle under the warm Arizona sun, as day two brought with it the addition of all years of Chevy/GMC vehicles—not just trucks. (That said, the majority of vehicles on display were of the truck variety, however, unlike years past, the swap meet was postponed.) By 3 p.m. the 10th annual free-for-all (entry is literally free for ALL) had wound down and, reluctantly (we had such a great time), sent us packing on our way back home.

Thanks again to Dino’s Chevy Only for having us be part of your event—we’ll be back next year without a doubt!
