Big Things, They are a Happening!

elcome to 2021—I think?! We’re a month into the new year, and while I’ll reserve myself from saying things are off to a good start in the overall scheme of things, I will say we’re off to a great start here at In The Garage Media!

Why/how is that, you ask? Well, let me start off by announcing that the ITGM Tech Center is now a thing. That’s right, we’re now officially bona fide when it comes to being a full-fledged enthusiast media company, from the magazines right down to the facility in which we produce them … which now includes a fully equipped, fully functional shop, sponsored by Harbor Freight and Duralast!

What does that mean for you? Well, to be honest, maybe not as much as it means to me and everyone else here at ITGM … however, it does mean that moving forward we will be producing quality content in both pictorial and video form for all our platforms—print, digital, and web—on a regular, consistent basis. We will also now be able to embark on “proper” in-house project vehicles, which we currently have a decent lineup ready and waiting to be started on. (Without going into too much detail with project specifics, I will tell you, they’re all trucks!)

So, while my humble-yet-stuffed-to-the-gills garage has sufficed for the past year-plus, not to mention the handful of local shops that have been able to remain open and provide technical/how-to content, it sure will be nice having a legit shop-away-from-home to rely on moving forward! And I should mention, that new shop of ours brings with it a name that may be familiar to many of you readers: Jason “IJ” Scudellari, our former tech center manager at our former place of business! Look forward to seeing—and hearing—more from Installation Jason here in the near future! I know I sure will.

That said, I want to make it perfectly clear that CTP will continue supporting the shops near and far that have supported us since day one … just because we have our own facility in which to tear apart old trucks and make them better doesn’t mean we have any plans on turning our backs on you! We’ve still got a long way to go on that pesky 1969 C10 of mine—the one that was initially supposed to be a quick freshen up and go has turned into practically a complete rebuild, save for paint and body … at least for now, that is! Maybe, just maybe, if the stars align and all that good stuff, I’ll be driving that to Dino’s Git Down come the end of the year (and my freshly licensed son will be in the rearview mirror piloting the recently acquired 1948 Chevy—long as I still have it come November!)

So, definitely more big things to come on the horizon for CTP and In The Garage Media. Stay tuned and, as always, keep hammerin’!
